Classes conducted

At Kalanjali we encourage the students to explore their field of interest by providing them professional training in music, art and dance.

Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam may be the oldest classical dance tradition of India. The performance repertoire of Bharatanatyam, like other classical dances, includes nrita (pure dance), nritya (solo expressive dance) and natya (group dramatic dance).

At kalanjali, we focus on  intensively training the students in the technique and alignment of this dance form. We attempt to introduce the students with all aspects of this dance form which include physical strength, efficiency of movement and involvement in the art form.

Carnatic Music

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”

Carnatic music is a system mostly associated with southern part of India. The main emphasis in Carnatic music is on vocal music; most compositions are written to be sung, and even when played on instruments, they are meant to be performed in a singing style.

Here in Kalanjali, we train the students to have in depth understanding about melody, rhythm and overall knowledge about the art form.  We work on building a strong base in classical music along with educating them about various classical instruments, famous compositions and train them to be fine vocalists.
